Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I use my heater in a bathroom?

No, our heaters are not designed for use in a bathroom or other humid areas, such as a laundry room or an open porch. Not only is there a risk of electrocution in moist environments, but damp locations, especially bathrooms, create a situation where moisture can collect on the heating element. Over time this moisture can cause serious damage to the element and the heater. Using this heater in a bathroom will void the warranty.

  • How do I save money using my portable heater?

There are two ways to be more economical in using this portable heater. Choose the lower heat setting which will draw 750 watts instead of drawing double the power at 1500 watts on high. You can also save money by using this heater as zonal heating. That means don?t heat your whole house, turn down your central thermostat and operate this portable heater in just the room you use most often.

  • Where can I recycle this product?

For responsible recycling, please visit 1800Recycling.com.

  • My heater was working fine and then stopped working, what should I do?

Because heaters are running at such high wattage, inconsistencies in power could trip an internal breaker. Try unplugging the heater and leave it unplugged for about 20 minutes. This should reset the heater. If the issue continues to happen, you may want to try using the heater on a different outlet that you are sure is on a different circuit in your home, to see if the problem still exists. If this does not solve the problem, please call or email consumer relations.

  • How much does it cost to run my heater?

To determine the cost to run the heater, multiply the wattage (1500 on high) by .001 and then multiply that by your electric cost per KwH. The answer is going to be the cost, per hour, to operate your heater

  • How can I tell what size room my heater is good for?

Heaters are not made for specific room sizes but this model has a Surround Heat™ design to evenly output warm air in 360° direction allowing for optimal room comfort.

  • How do I change the heat output from all around 360 to directional heating?

This heater is versatile and designed for all around heating or direction heating. To set 360° surround heating – push the directional lever on the back of the heater in the UP position. To set 180° directional heating – push the lever in the DOWN position.

  • Can I use an extension cord with my heater?

No, this electric heater is rated 120VAC, 12.5 amp, 1500 watts. Always plug heater directly into the wall outlet/receptacle. Never use this product with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).

  • Does my heater contain Teflon?

Yes, the element in this unit does contain Teflon. This heater is not recommended for use in homes with birds. If looking for this style/type of heater, please consider a ceramic heater.
